Groom's Shoes

My super creative friends, Lily and Jordan, got married a couple years ago and Jordan made the dopest groomsmen gifts of all time: customized kicks. He bought a bunch of vans, then hand-painted them with inside jokes and random stuff for his friends. I think it turned out pretty awesome.

That's immediately what I thought of when I saw these bad boys:

Stylist, Robert Verdii asked Vans to make some custom ones for him out of some vintage Hermes scarves. The result? The dopest Vans I've ever seen.

Watercolor

Those of you that have been followin me know that I never post anything about about stationary or calligraphy. Personally I think its boring. Every once in awhile, I'll see something so off tha chain, that I have to post about it. This is one of those times.

The watercolor is so beautiful here, and I think it could be easily replicated. DIY anyone?

DIY: Flower girl

I love everything about this picture. Wouldn't this dress make a beautiful wedding dress? You could probably make something similar on your own by taking a plain strapless dress and attaching some fabric flowers like these with a needle and thread.

DIY: Pinata Favors

I love pinatas, I really do. There's something so gratifying about destruction. These little favors would be so much fun to pull apart at a wedding reception. They are so easy to make too! All you need are mini balloons, tissue paper, water, paste and voila!

Check it out on Not Martha's blog. She has a full tutorial as well as other lil ideas.

How to decorate long tables (Gangsta-ly)

For lovely number, just take some jewelry wire and and mangle and twist it up (the more unorganized the better! Then, use bright colored delicate flowers to contrast with the wire. You can use real flowers or paper ones using little pieces of the wire. You can put in in a glass as in the picture, or just place it along the table. I love the way it drapes!

This wire centerpiece is a bit more tamed. First get some coiling wire from a hardware store. Then wrap it around a bucket to get a uniform coil pattern, finally, you can stretch it out on the table and secure it with ties on either end. Then, just put bright flowers with long stems between the coils.

I love the look of these birds nest inspired centerpieces. To make these, you can use big soup cans. Then, wrap them with moss and garden wire. Then, put twigs in between the wire. Then, fill the soup can with flowers with large blooms.

This centerpiece is probably the easiest and the most cost effective! Use monochromatic carnations against solid colored square vases scattered along the table.

The key to decorating long tables is to keep it interesting along the table by incorporating new designs throughout.

Centerpieces that are NOT balls of roses

I was browsing That Bride's blog, and I found these amazing centerpieces. I love the feathers, the moss, the everything. They even named each of the tables after places in their favorite books. They work so well in tall rooms, and frankly I'm over over the top flower trees.
