Happy 4th of July

This has gotta be my favorite holiday. Does it get any better than fireworks, alcohol, burgers, swimming? I think not. Today, I'm going up to Lake Lanier to hang out with some friends and go slip and sliding- high school style. I also got a whole denim outfit thats real 90s to celebrate the occasion. Have fun everyone!

Btw, sorry I've been a lil MIA recently. You know how it goes. Sometimes I gotta check myself, take a timeout, and go do important non blogger things.

Couples that look alike

You know how people can look like their dogs?

I was reading this article that this same phenomenon is true for couples that have been together for a long time! It explains that people tend to be more attracted to people with similar features(also known as imprinting).

John Huck, an LA artist, did a photographic installation on couples that look alike here:




Also, couples who have been together a long time can look more and more alike over time. This is because they tend to have many of the same experiences, and many of the same facial lines (like laugh lines). Crazy huh?

Smoking

Too many things to do this week. Please forgive me for my lack of posting. I need a long cigarette break (even though I don't smoke cigarettes).

Today is my birthday

and I'm cookin' up a storm for my birthday dinner party.

I actually woke up feeling older today. I mean c'mon, dinner parties? Cooking my momma's recipes? Velcro rollers? Next stop is prune juice and Talbots.

wtf?

It's snowing in Atlanta. Last night, I wore a little dress and bare legs and felt totally fine- it was like 60 degrees. Then, this morning, I left the brunch restaurant to find my car covered in snow. wtf? It wasn't even slushy snow, but GOOD sticky, powdery snow. It's cool, but I kind of felt like homegirl in he picture above.

I just got my first slr for christmas! I can't wait 'till I learn what this baby can do, I'm tearin' up the auto functions though...
